Proclamation of Appreciation & Gratitude
Whereas, 20 years ago, February 1, 1988, I had the blessing, privilege, and honor of being appointed City Clerk for the Great City of Cameron, Clinton and DeKalb Counties, Missouri; and
Whereas, in those exciting 20 years I have witnessed and been a part of unprecedented growth under the leadership of progressive and caring councils evidenced by the creation of Crossroads Corporate Center, obtaining the Correctional facilities, annexations, new subdivisions, improved infrastructures, and numerous other events including a budget growing to $17 million; and
Whereas, during those 20 years, I have been privileged to work with some outstanding individuals: past and the present Councils, Administrative Staff, Police Department, and all City Departments, each who have in some way enhanced my life; and
Whereas, I have been given the opportunity to advance my education, gaining over 400 hours of continuing education to better equip me to serve “My City” in a productive and responsible way; and
Whereas, I firmly believe God places us where are to “serve and to give”, for this I praise Him and thank Him and I will strive to do His will as I persevere to “serve and give” to “My City” with professionalism, knowledge and skills.
Now, therefore, I, Barbara J. O’Connor, CMC, City Clerk, do hereby humbly express and proclaim my sincere, heartfelt appreciation to the Great City of Cameron and the City Council for the opportunities afforded me to be a part of the tremendous accomplishments made by “My City” and I look forward with great pride and eager anticipation to the future of “My Great City”.
Blessings and appreciation,
Barbara J. O’Connor, CMC
