  1. FREE Large Trash Drop-Off

    June 7, 2020, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ Animal Care Facility & Parking Lot North of Public Safety Building

    On Sunday, June 7, R & W Container and the City of Cameron are providing free large trash drop-off sites. There is no charge to citizens dropping off items. Participants must live within the City limits. The date is scheduled for the Sunday directly after the city-wide garage sale. Drop-off times are from 10:00 am through 2:00 pm. There will be two different sites, the end of S. Elm St. by the Animal Facility and at the parking lot north of the Public Safety Building on Second Street. Restrictions: NO Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) materials, tires, construction and demolition materials. Appliances will be accepted at this collection. Additionally, all items must be from residential households generated within the city limits. There is no off-loading assistance at the sites, so be prepared to unload your items into the container.

  4. Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Site Open (HHW)

    June 13, 2020, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Water Plant (behind water plant - use Eighth St. entrance)

    HHW items accepted for recycling include: batteries, varnishes, cleaners, pesticides, garden sprays, brake fluid, antifreeze, and fluorescent bulbs. Outdated agricultural chemicals will also be accepted for proper disposal (no containers over 5 gallons). Not Accepted: No latex paint, ammunition, or explosives. See below methods for proper disposal of latex paint. Also please note Motor Oil will not be accepted for recycling. Please recycle your used motor oil at Wal-Mart Automotive Centers and O’Reilly’s Auto Parts Stores. For additional motor oil recycling centers call the Recycling District Office at 816-393-5250. Please consider safe alternatives for non-hazard paint and batteries as listed below.
